A day in Venice

I stood in Venice, on the Bridge of Sighs,
    A palace and a prison on each hand:
    I saw from out the wave her structures rise
    As from the stroke of the enchanter's wand:
    A thousand years their cloudy wings expand
    Around me, and a dying Glory smiles
    O'er the far times, when many a subject land
    Looked to the wingéd Lion's marble piles,
Where Venice sate in state, throned on her hundred isles!

    She looks a sea Cybele, fresh from ocean,
    Rising with her tiara of proud towers
    At airy distance, with majestic motion,
    A ruler of the waters and their powers:
    And such she was--her daughters had their dowers
    From spoils of nations, and the exhaustless East
    Poured in her lap all gems in sparkling showers:
    In purple was she robed, and of her feast
Monarchs partook, and deemed their dignity increased.

    In Venice Tasso's echoes are no more,
    And silent rows the songless gondolier;
    Her palaces are crumbling to the shore,
    And music meets not always now the ear:
    Those days are gone--but Beauty still is here;
    States fall, arts fade--but Nature doth not die,
    Nor yet forget how Venice once was dear,
    The pleasant place of all festivity,
The revel of the earth, the masque of Italy!

How amazing are these 3 pieces compiled from video taken on an epic trip??! You know, the kind of transnational incredible odyssey you and your friends are always talking about embarking on? Well, Rick Mereki, Andrew Lees and Tim White unlike you, went all the way and came back with these cool short travel films.

Hotel • Magic Mountain Lodge

Montaña Mágica Lodge

860 kilometers south of Santiago, in

"Region de los Rios" in the middle of the Patagonian Andes.

I am always on the lookout for the coolest places to visit and this "magical" hotel has made it onto my list!

Deep in the South Chilean Natural reserve of Huilo Huilo is this gem of place, appropriately named "The Magic Mountain Lodge" as it is a man-made volcano covered in foliage that spews water instead of lava and cascades over the windows of the rooms built inside the volcano. As if this was not sufficiently magical, outside are hot tubs, carved from hollowed out tree trunks where you can relax after a hike to the forest or the lake - or even white-water rafting.

Can you just imagine falling asleep to the sounds of the waterfall rushing right outside your window??

Siempre ando en busca de los mejores lugares para visitar y este "mágico" hotel definitivamente a entrado a mi lista!
Una joya dentro de la Reserva Natural Chilena de Huilo Huilo, apropiadamente llamada "Montaña Mágica Lodge" ya que es un volcán artificial cubierto de follaje que arroja agua en lugar de lava creando cascadas de agua que caen sobre las ventanas de las habitaciones construidas en el interior del volcán. 
Como si esto no lo hiciera lo suficientemente mágico, en las afueras del volcán hay unos troncos de árboles ahuecados que forman unas perfectas tinas calientes en donde podrás relajarte después de una caminata al bosque o al lago o incluso después de una aventura en los rápidos.
¿Puedes imaginar dormir con el sonido de la cascada corriendo justo afuera de tu ventana?

Coachella 2012

TONS of music fans gathered to enjoy a wide variety of musical styles at Coachella Music and Arts Festival 2012, held over the  Inland Empire's Coachella Valley in Indio, California. One of the biggest highlights of this year's Coachellafest was during Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg's performance when a hologram of deceased rapper Tupac came up and began performing -Hail mary-. The 2012 edition also featured Bon Iver, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, The Hives, Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine among others. This year the Annual 3-day event tickets went on sale on January 13, 2012 at 10am and were sold out by 1pm!!

TONELADAS de fans a la música se reunieron para disfrutar de una amplia variedad de estilos musicales en el Festival de Música y Artes -Coachella- 2012, que tuvo lugar en el "Inland Empire de Coachella Valley" en Indio, California. 

Una de las mayores atracciones del Coachellafest de este año fue durante la presentación de Dr.Dre y Snoop Dogg cuando un holograma del fallecido rapero Tupac se se presento en el escenario. La edición del 2012 también contó con Bon Iver, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, The Hives, Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine, entre otros. 

Este año, los boletos para el anual evento de 3 días salieron a la venta el 13 de enero de 2012 a las 10 am y para la 1pm ya se habían agotado!!
